Defensive Shooters Fellowship
We are a local official IDPA club first established in 1999. We hold monthly matches on the 4th Saturday of each month at Markham Park in Sunrise, Florida.

Mission Statement of Defensive Shooters Fellowship of West Broward
Encourage organized shooting among our community with better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms and improved marksmanship.
Support honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance in action sport shooting.
Maintain an affiliation with the International Defensive Pistol Association, the National Rifle Association, and Markham Park Target Range.
The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) was founded in 1996 and is the governing body for IDPA competition, a handgun-centric shooting sport based on simulated self-defense scenarios.
The IDPA competition format was designed to be enjoyable for all shooters of all skill levels, focused on the social interaction and camaraderie of the members. Participation in IDPA matches requires the use of handguns and pistol caliber carbines, holsters and other equipment suitable for self-defense. With that in mind, and keeping the shooters' best interests in mind, IDPA's founders established equipment requirements that are based on commonly available firearms and gear, allowing the individuals the opportunity to compete with minimal investment.
IDPA stands as the fastest growing shooting sport in the United States with over 25,000 members from all 50 states and over 400 affiliated clubs hosting weekly and monthly competitions.
